Lord Jesus Christ, Son and Word of God the Father, who on this day shared the Last Supper with Your disciples, and with great humility washed their feet, and those of the disciple who betrayed You! Then, taking bread and wine into Your Holy Hands and blessing them with Your divine power, You Yourself transformed them into Your Body and Blood, with which You shared them, saying:

‘Take, eat and drink, for these are My Body and Blood, so that your sins may be forgiven.’ You who, on this very day, ascended into heaven and sat at the right hand of God, Your Father, to reign with Him for ever, as His only-begotten and most beloved Son.

I therefore beseech You, through the prayers of Your disciples, to forgive our sins, the sins of all, both the living and the departed. Grant me, O Lord, fervent tears, that I may weep for my sins. May Your cleansing gift, which washed the feet of Your disciples, also wash and cleanse my heart and soul, so that I may worthily, purely and humbly partake of Your Holy Mysteries, both now and at the hour of my death; and at the hour of my departure, may my soul ascend to You with joy, passing through the gates of heaven without any fear, doubt or hindrance, entering into Your heavenly glory. Help me, O Lord, to glorify You for ever, and to worship Your Holy Name.

Amen.
